Chasetackle Reverse Curl

EXPLANATION:

Tackling with a reverse curl is very solid and safe when executed properly and keeps the puck relatively protected from steals by the playing arm as the tackle is executed.  The most common errors here are players trying to tackle with their free shoulder up off the bottom, allowing the puck to be reclaimed by the tackled player.

POINTS TO REMEMBER:

Images show a right hander tackling on the left...

- get as far ahead as you can

- get your free shoulder flat on the bottom

- grab the puck with your hook, keep trying until you have it

- drive your shoulder into the back of the oppositions playing elbow

- at the same time pull the puck and turn away

- your shoulder should block them reaching back for the puck
